BESPOKE

Bespoke is the term that is applied to any AOK jewellery that is created by us in accordance with client's specification / design. This term also applies to any of our designs that are customised by a clients input. 

Special conditions apply to such purchases and by placing an order with AOK for a bespoke piece of jewellery, you confirm that you have read and accepted the following Terms and Conditions.*

SHIPPING & DELIVERY

I work with an 8 week minimum time frame for the creation of a bespoke piece of jewellery. This is a rough guide, some projects are swifter than others. For example the complexity of the design, the time taken to finalise the design or my workshop capacity can all bear change to this timeframe. 

During your initial consultation we will be able to provide a rough time frame and are very happy to discuss your specific deadlines.

​Please note that the "8 week" time frame will not commence until the 50% deposit has been paid. 

​Also be aware that if you pause/delay your project during the process the original quoted prices may be subjected to change due to fluctuations in the metal prices. We may also be unable to guarantee your original deadline date. 

FINALISING YOUR DESIGN

After your main gemstone has been selected, I will then begin creating your hand drawn concept pages. I generally provide up to three or four designs before creating a final sketch of your chosen design. Further design pages will incur an additional charge. 

Once written approval has been received on the design, the client must honour this agreement. I cannot be held accountable if you change your mind on the design and manufacture after work has commenced. Any further changes to a design at this stage may incur additional charges. 

Please be aware that the sketch work created is a representation of how the design will be translated into your pieces of jewellery. My pieces are hand fabricated and the organic, perfectly imperfect aesthetic is central to AOK design therefore some variations may occur.​

CANCELLATION & REFUNDS

I am unable to accept cancellation on bespoke, customised or personalised orders already in production. Should you wish to cancel before manufacture has commenced please get in touch at the earliest time however, deposits paid are non-refundable. 

Bespoke items are considered special orders and are therefore not eligible for return or exchange.

REMODELLING

Remodelling is an excellent way of repurposing unworn jewellery either into a completely new style or a simple re-make. 

In order to assess your jewellery for remodelling, I require your items to be brought to our studio (or sent to me) for assessment. I check any gemstones for wear and tear or damage and assess their suitability to be removed and re-set. There are certain gemstones like opals and pearls that aren't suitable for remodelling due to their delicate nature.​

RESETTING YOUR STONES

There are risks involved with re-modelling jewellery (of any age) and whilst I take great care when removing stones from their original setting, on occasion stones may break, chip or fracture. Therefore all re-modelling is carried out at the customer's own risk and I cannot take responsibility for any damage to stones during these processes.

If a stone does break and you would like to replace it we can quote for this and source a suitable replacement for you. 

Prior to removing any stones we will always email for written confirmation to allow us to process. Once the gemstones have been removed from their original setting we will give the stones a clean and take measurements ready to proceed with your bespoke design. ​

RECYCLING METAL

There are some limitations to what can be done with your metal. It is only possible to use your metal for some styles (we can discuss this during the first consultation). One of the best ways to include metal from an old ring is to use this metal to create the shank.

As with melting any metal, there might be some slight imperfections on the surface of the metal in the final finish. This is a normal part of having a unique piece created from your own metal. 

In pieces of jewellery where we are not using your metal, we can apply the scrap value as a deduction to your overall cost. We test and weigh all metal provided to us and we can also return any scrap if it is of sentimental value. ​

HALLMARKING

All new castings legally require hallmarking. In the instance your own metal is sued for the manufacture of a new shank / band, the Assay office will assess and grade this accordingly. Sometimes this might include a part mark where there are two metals dowered together. 

AOK jewellery is hallmarked at the Edinburgh Assay Office.

In the instance your own metal in used for the manufacture of a new shank / band or wedding ring liner, the Assay office will assess and grade this gold and stamp accordingly. This may include a Part Mark, where there are two metals dowered together.
