A sculptural ring exploring light, surface, and the responsive nature of material. Carved in wax and cast in recycled gold, Aura presents a luminous focal point within a subtly molten band, balancing delicacy with presence.

The Story

Aura forms part of Annie King’s ongoing study of light, texture, and the interaction between wearer and object. A Welo opal crowns the band, its natural variability and hydrophane qualities allowing the stone to respond to its environment—shifting colour and clarity as it encounters light and moisture.

The band is sculpted with AOK’s signature molten texture, a flowing surface that captures subtle reflections without ostentation. Each piece is made individually, preserving the gestures of the hand that formed it and ensuring that every ring is unique. Aura is both intimate and dynamic, a meditation on light, materiality, and quiet transformation.

• Hand-carved wax model using the lost-wax casting process

• Finished and polished by hand in Scotland
